Senior PMO Analyst

The University of Oxford has a large IT Development portfolio to deliver new and enhanced IT solutions to support the delivery of the University’s Strategic Plan.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMO professional to join the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) as a Senior PMO Analyst to support in taking forward the vision for the PMO and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the service it provides.

The Senior Analyst will act as line manager to the Portfolio Management Office team of 5. The team support all aspects of programme and project delivery, including the provision of up-to-date best practice standards and guidance, monitoring and control, reporting, risk and issue management, and quality assurance.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience of managing and developing PMO functions

• Practical experience in leading or initiating continuous improvement of processes and ways of working, and/or increasing maturity levels within a team, preferably as part of a portfolio or programme management office

• An in-depth understanding of programme and project management lifecycles, and experience of developing and embedding programme and project management best practice, taking into account the nature of the organisation and project, and the organisational maturity

• Knowledge of both waterfall and agile project delivery approaches

They will have a range of skills including:

• The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels, as well as external stakeholders

• Excellent communication skills and an understanding of communication approaches, including tailoring messages to suit the audience

• Established line management experience

While this is a full-time post, we also welcome applications from candidates who wish to work part-time (minimum 30 hours/0.8 FTE) and/or flexibly.

You will be based in Oxford as your normal place of work, but there may be the opportunity to agree a pattern of remote working with your line manager.
