We are seeking an exceptional, enthusiastic and motivated Senior Postdoctoral Scientist to join the research group of Professor Yang Shi at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The Shi group investigates chromatin and RNA modifications, and how and how these impact biological processes and human health, especially cancer.

You will develop research questions within the context of the epigenetic regulation of reproduction and development, within the research group of Professor Yang Shi. Analyse detailed and complex qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, and generate original ideas by building on existing concepts. You will be responsible for agreeing clear task objectives, organise, and delegate work to other members of the team and supervise and train junior staff in genomics and data analysis. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

It is essential that you hold a PhD in epigenetics or reproductive/ developmental biology with post-qualification research experience. You will have previous experience in handling murine and human trophoblast cell lines, and derivation of various murine primary tissue derived trophoblast cell lines. You will also have experience in vitro biochemical and molecular biology techniques pertaining to epigenetic manipulation in in vitro cell culture models as well as in vivo animal tissues.
