Teaching Fellowship in Economics

Grade 7: £32,817 to £40,322 per annum, discretionary range to £44,045 p.a.
The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow, commencing from 1st April 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter and no later than September 2021. The Department is particularly interested in applicants able to teach Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics or Econometrics. The Department of Economics at Oxford University is one of the largest and most diverse groups of academic economists in Europe and is committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Department, you will provide lectures, classes and tutorials for undergraduate and graduate students in Economics. You will undertake advanced academic study to underpin lectures and class teaching, engage in examining and participate in the student admissions process. You will also have the opportunity to give lectures at graduate level in an area appropriate to your own expertise and contribute to the supervision of MPhil theses.
You will have a doctorate in Economics, or be close to completion (by 31 December 2021), and demonstrate an ability to teach high-achieving and challenging students on a broad range of topics, preferably with some experience in graduate teaching and assessment. Good team-working and organisational skills are essential, as are excellent communication and presentation skills and the sensitivity to deal with pastoral duties. This is a full time position, fixed-term until 30th September 2024 (3 years).
