The NDPH contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit is a major international research institute within the NDPH, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.

We are looking for a Web Application Developer to work with other members of the team to design, implement, and maintain key components of web-based informatics architectures, tailored to meet the needs of specific clinical research projects and taking advantage of relevant advances in web-based technologies. Your responsibilities will include taking responsibility for the design and implementation of key components of the overall system, ensuring that it meets the needs of the user community, and working with clinicians, study operations staff, data managers, and other stakeholders to help ensure that the development activity makes the best use of existing resources, complies with existing standards, and reflects emerging priorities.

To be considered you will hold a degree in a numerate discipline, or have equivalent experience, have substantial experience with Java and experience of web application development. You will also have relevant experience of software engineering principles, tools, and techniques, the ability to collaborate with, and support, system users, excellent communication skills in oral and written English and attention to detail.

The position is full time (although part time considered) and fixed term for three years in the first instance.
