Duties and Responsibilities

UCL Special Collections collects, preserves and provides access to archives, records and rare books to support the research and teaching of UCL and to reflect the history of the organisation. The post holder is responsible for developing and coordinating Academic Liaison and Events programmes for UCL Special Collections with a focus on the UCL East campus.

This involves working with academic staff to develop and deliver events, classes and teaching resources, overseeing the circulation of collection items to and from UCL East, and liaising between UCL East teaching and research staff and the UCL Special Collections team.

This is a permanent post based in UCL East Campus, London, with regular visits to UCL Bloomsbury campus. The role holder will be expected to work a minimum of 40% [or more, if applicable] of their time on campus. The pattern of on-campus and remote working will be agreed with the role holder.

Key Requirements

With a recognised qualification in Librarianship, Information Studies or Archives & Records Management, the post holder will have experience of designing and delivering teaching sessions that involve archives, records and/or rare printed items.

They will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
