Duties and Responsibilities

Continually supports the leadership team to ensure the team adopts and maintains a dynamic and driven approach to promoting and supporting H&S across the department.

Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are embedded and adhered to within operational teams, Supporting operational colleagues in understanding process and performance, requirements to achieve compliance, escalating performance issues or recommending remedial action to the management team where necessary.

Establish and maintain Estates Operations legal register, report quarterly to the Infrastructure H&S safety sub-committee, report quarterly on Estates Operations KPIs via the P&PT team.

Key Requirements

The Assistant Director of Compliance and Performance will work closely with the Universitys Directorate of Health and Safety to develop Estates Operations policies and procedures that meet the requirements of Health and Safety legislation, UCL requirements and Codes of Practice.

The Directorate is establishing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System utilising the T100 programme which is based on assessment Series (ISO 45001) accreditation. The ADC&P will lead on this significant project, and be responsible for the ongoing development and accreditation.

The postholder will collaborate with the leadership team to instil a robust Health and Safety culture within the Estates Operations team with line management responsibility for Fire Safety and Asbestos Management.
