Duties and Responsibilities

The History of Art Department is seeking to appoint a part-time Associate Lecturer (Teaching) to cover the sickness absence of a member of academic staff between 10 January – 10 July 2022.

The postholder will deliver the second term of two 20-week, 30-credit special subjects to Final Year BA students (HART0107: Postcoloniality, Colonialism and Art in the British Empire) and MA students (HART0124: Vision, Tourism, Imperialism: Art and Travel in the British Empire 1760 – 1870). The rubrics for both modules are given in the full job description, accessible below. In addition the postholder may be asked to contribute to marking and assessment on other modules and some dissertation supervision.

Teaching is expected to be delivered face-to-face on campus in Bloomsbury, however due to the changing conditions around the Covid 19 pandemic it may be necessary to pivot to online teaching at short notice. Training will be provided but prior experience of delivering teaching remotely would be an advantage.

The appointment will be made at 0.5FTE for 6 months between 10 January 2022 – 10 July 2022 to cover the sickness absence of a member of academic staff.
