Duties and Responsibilities

The UCL School of Slavonic & East European Studies (SSEES) is seeking to recruit an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Ukrainian literature and culture for the 2022/3 academic year. The post is to cover Dr Uilleam Blackers Leverhulme Fellowship, and will begin on 1 September 2022. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with expertise in a second area of Central or East European culture and/or in Russian language and culture.

The post is for 12 months in the first instance.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will hold or be close to completion of a PhD in Ukrainian Studies, with expertise in Ukrainian literature and/or culture. They will be responsible for delivering core and optional modules in Ukrainian literature and culture and contributing to the Schools Central and East European culture curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We expect the post-holder to have experience of teaching and assessment of Ukrainian literature or culture; excellent communication and presentation skills, including a high level of proficiency in English (verbal and written); excellent Information Technology skills, including experience of using virtual learning environments and related learning technologies.
