Duties and Responsibilities
The WEISS Centre at UCL is a collaboration of experts focusing on developing novel technology for use in the surgical and medical interventional arena. Working in partnership with engineers, computer scientists, clinicians, laboratory based staff, clinical trials staff, statisticians and the public, it provides world class research, high quality patient care and has been awarded medical excellence awards for teaching in endoscopy. The group is now also moving into trials relating to artificial intelligence for endoscopic diagnosis and therapy for colorectal and oesophageal cancers and Crohns disease.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the team. The role will primarily focus on acting as a trial coordinator alongside existing staff in the group for the various clinical trials the team is involved with and ensuring conduct and reporting of trials follows strict GCP guidelines. The post holder will be line managed by the WEISS senior trials coordinator and will also be supervised by Professor Lovat, who heads the Centre. The team hosts regular training events throughout the year related to trials and medical training and so the role will also incorporate administrative tasks related to event organisation and management.
This post is initially funded until 30 April 2022.
The post holder must have a Life Science BSc. A high level of knowledge of biomedical sciences, experience in clinical trials (preferably in a clinical trials unit) and/or health related research and familiarity with current regulatory requirements governing clinical trials are all essential. The post holder must have excellent administrative and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively and work to deadlines.
