Duties and Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join the IOE Marketing and Communications team as Digital Engagement Officer.

The Institute of Education (IOE) is a world-leading centre for research and teaching in social science and education, ranked number one for education worldwide in the 2021 QS World University Rankings for the eighth year running. Founded in 1902, the IOE currently has more than 8,000 students and 800 staff, and attracts students from over 100 countries around the world.

As a key member of the IOE Marketing and Communications team, you will work alongside specialists in a range of different fields to communicate the richness and diversity of IOEs work. From creating a new presence on the website for a pioneering research project, to supporting a digital advertising campaign designed to enter a new market, or working with analytics to understand where our audiences come from and how they use information when they are with us, you will be at the heart of a team dedicated to matching IOEs world-leading reputation with world-class marketing and communications.

Working within the IOE Digital Engagement Team, and reporting to the Digital Content Editor, Education and Business Units, you will be the content author for the Courses, Departments and Centres, and Contact the IOE sections of the IOE website. You will work with the Digital Content Editor and colleagues across the IOE, use UCLs Drupal Content Management System (CMS) to receive, edit, web- optimise and input text, images and multimedia to create lively, accessible department and centre pages. You will produce website analytics and monitor quality assurance indicators, and work with the IOE Marketing team to support student recruitment.

Key Requirements

With experience of using a website content management system (CMS) to input, structure and optimise communications content, including text, images and multimedia assets, and experience of using metadata to manage content, you will also be highly organised and highly proficient in the use of Excel, Word and other computer- based applications.
