Duties and Responsibilities

  • Part of the Category Team for one of UCLs commercial category teams.
  • Deliver individual projects and procurements as directed.
  • Work with stakeholders to drive tangible value for money.
  • Liaise with users to integrate new ways of working.
  • Support procurement and commercial contract management activity.
  • Supporting the development of individual procurement plans which meet the needs of both the category and central commercial drivers (including sustainability).
  • Managing small to medium individual tenders including contract negotiations, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and drafting contracts.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of contracts and transactions.

Key Requirements

  • Graduate calibre with degree or equivalent level of experience gained in the work environment. Experienced in negotiating in order to achieve results and required outcomes.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience of servicing meetings including taking minutes and maintaining action logs.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Commercially astute with the ability to deliver this through all procurement and commercial activity.
  • Meticulous degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to plan and prioritise own and others workload.
  • Interpersonal skills which enable the post to develop effective working relationships, and to work effectively both independently and as a proactive team member in a project environment.
