The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is a collaborative and cross-disciplinary environment where clinicians, engineers, allied health professionals and researchers are constantly striving for innovative approaches to treatment. This includes developing highly effective methods which go beyond the boundaries of conventional wisdom and treating each patient as an individual.

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician based in Division of Surgery and Interventional Sciences laboratories to provide support to two sites: our Bloomsbury Campus and our Stanmore Campus. The Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is an exciting and dynamic environment and this post provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to develop and expand on a laboratory based career.

The post holder will work within a team of three technicians to provide full laboratory support to the Academic staff and students of the Division, assisting staff in teaching of taught courses and for research purposes. This can involve the set-up and clean-up of teaching laboratories for our taught BSC and MSC courses and the contribution to laboratory based teaching.

The post holder will also be required to assist with the maintenance and running of the divisional laboratories to a high standard and to ensure that all health and safety regulations are complied with.

This is a 14 months fixed-term contract (or until the post holder returns) to cover a period of parental leave.

This will be offered to UCL Internal Candidates as a 14 month Secondment. If you are a UCL Internal Candidate please discuss the secondment opportunity first with your existing line manager before applying. Please indicate on your application form that your line manager supports your application.
