Duties and Responsibilities
We seek to appoint a Lecturer in Speech and Hearing Science. The post holder will contribute to research and teaching in the Department of Speech, Hearing and Phonetic Science.
The postholder will be expected to develop an outstanding research profile that enhances the international standing of the department. In addition to research, the postholder will be expected to engage in teaching activities including development, delivery, assessment and quality assurance of teaching programmes and modules. They will also undertake supervision of student research projects, provide pastoral care for students, and undertake administrative duties in the department.
The post is available from June 2022.
Key Requirements
We particularly welcome applicants who work on Speech and Hearing Science. Expertise might include (but is not limited to): speech and hearing development, cognition, hearing impairment and speech perception, measurement of listening effort, neuroscientific basis of speech and hearing, computational modelling of speech and hearing, speech and hearing in typical and atypical populations and across the lifespan.
The postholder must have a PhD in a relevant discipline, high-level research experience leading to expert knowledge of methodologies used in the field, and a research publication profile. They must have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or masters level.
