Duties and Responsibilities

This role is that of a Lecturer (Teaching) within the Division of Medicine

Duties include the teaching and assessment of BSc students within the Division of Medicine. Additional teaching may be required for MSc programmes depending on the skills and experience of the individual.

Other aspects of the role may include developing new course elements and working with the education team to evaluate and improve all aspects of teaching within the division.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant nutrition/dietetics subject area and experience of teaching within a higher education institution, with an appropriate educational qualification being highly desirable.

Ideally the applicant will also have experience of working within a medical/biomedical research environment as this forms a core element of our teaching. Evidence of successfully publishing in peer reviewed journals and/or a track record of grant funding are also desirable qualities.

The role holder will have good interpersonal and communication skills, and will be expected to represent the department both internally within the college and externally with potential students and the wider community.
