Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will provide a first point of contact for the Unit and play a key role in the co-ordination of the Unit. They will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Climate Action Units project portfolio. They will liaise closely with the CAU team members, staff at the Faculty level, researchers, policy professionals and other stakeholders. The post holder will assume responsibility for operational elements of projects, including day-to-day management, budgeting, reporting, communications, ethics approvals, liaison with partners, maintaining key stakeholder relationships and monitoring the progress of projects.

The appointment is funded for three years in the first instance.

Key Requirements

The role holder will have experience of project management, communications, and work within an organisation focused on climate change. The role requires the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload, and to communicate effectively and build relationships with people at different levels in the organisation and externally. Thus, a professional attitude, a willingness to help, and the ability to remain tactful and assertive are vital. It is also essential that the post holder has: the ability to work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; and the ability to work unsupervised and independently.
