Duties and Responsibilities

The applicant will be involved in analyses and papers examining the associations of ART conception status and its variants (ICSI, IVF, Cryopreservation) with educational and health outcomes in men women and children. Additionally, they will contribute to the needs of the other small number of researchers in the team working on governance documentation (ethics, data protection, updates and approvals).

The post holder will be expected to actively participate in existing proposals with a view to produce analysis and output from existing data linkage projects under Professor Sutcliffes supervision. If they have a PhD more independent working will be allowed. If they have a MSc they will be encouraged to secure PhD funding in year 2 of the post.

This post is funded for 24 months in the first instance.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • MSc in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Linkage or Database research is desirable however we would also consider an applicant from a Psychology background assuming they have knowledge of data analysis methods and /or linkage methodology
  • A PhD is also desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of data analysis and data linkage
  • Ability to work independently

Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary 32,217 – 33,958 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
