Structural and Molecular Biology
Duties and Responsibilities
To undertake research in a designated field / subject area including designing and running experiments, recording, analysing and as part of a team, writing up results.
The successful candidate will join the research group of Andres Ramos
The aim will be to clone, express and purify mutants of the protein IMP1, prepare vectors for the eukaryotic expression of the same mutants and assist the PDRA in performing iCLIP on those mutants.
The post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.
Key Requirements
Successful candidates will have experience in protein purification, experience in DNA recombinant techniques in bacteria and eukaryotic cells and experience in NMR and BLI analysis of protein/RNA interactions. They will also have experience of successfully working in a research environment, experience in interdisciplinary working and experience working in the higher education sector.
