Duties and Responsibilities
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow with experience in culturing and analysing T cell populations from mouse blood, thymus and lymphoid organs and experience in investigating the Hedgehog signalling pathway. The RF will work on the project Hedgehog signalling in gamma delta T-cell differentiation. The Research Fellow will carry out experiments on mouse tissue in Tessa Cromptons laboratory in the III department, UCL GOS Institute of Child Health.
This post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.
The candidate will have BSc or equivalent in relevant discipline (eg. Biomedicine, Biology, Human biology, Genetics). PhD submitted in relevant discipline (eg. Immunology PhD), experience working in a research lab; experience in culturing mouse thymocytes and working with mice; experience in adoptive transfer experiments. They will also have experience in multicolour flow cytometry and cell sorting (operating cell sorter), quantitative PCR, analysis of thymus of Hedgehog pathway mouse mutants. Ability to analyse next generation sequencing datasets (eg. RNAsequencing datsets and TCR sequence analysis). Ability to assess differential exon usage in RNAsequencing datasets.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary 32,217 – 33,958 per annum).
