Applications are invited for a Research Fellow at the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at University College London (UCL).

The project is being led by Professor Essi Viding (PI), together with colleagues for UCL and University of Bristol. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will take a lead on all aspects of the study. This will include working with the PI to implement recruitment and data collection systems, checking and piloting measurements in the field (including work with young people to optimise the study protocols), analysing the data and writing it up for publication. A further key task will be working with the study investigators to curate data for public use at the end of the study.

This post starts on the 1st March 2021 and is funded for 4 years in the first instance.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Psychology, Psychiatry or similar field. Those about to submit their thesis will be considered for this post.

The ideal candidate would also have experience conducting research with young people with conduct problems and establishing and managing relationships with schools. The applicant also needs to possess good interpersonal skills for communicating with the wider project team.

Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (Salary 32,217 – 33,958 per annum, including London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
