Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a research fellow position in Global Seismology, to be held at the Department of Earth Sciences at UCL. The NERC-funded project MC2 will build new global 3-D models of radial anisotropy in the Earths mantle using probabilistic inversion schemes enabling full uncertainty quantification.

The post is funded by the Natural Environment Research Council for 24 months in the first instance at 0.8 FTE.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD, or thesis submitted subject to examination, in seismology and a strong background in global seismic tomography and Monte Carlo seismic inversions, as well as in handling and analysing large seismic datasets.
