Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow position to join the Geochemistry Group of UCL Earth Sciences. The project is funded by the Templeton Foundation and will focus on curating and interpreting sedimentary isotopic data pertaining to Earth’s early surface environment/early microbial metabolisms and helping to establish an interactive chemostratigraphic database.

The successful candidate will be a Research Fellow located in the Department of Earth Sciences on the main Bloomsbury campus of UCL, subject to Covid restrictions.

The post is available immediately for up to 18 months in the first instance.

Key Requirements

Candidates will have a PhD, or thesis submitted subject to examination, in geosciences, or have the equivalent relevant experience, and a first degree in earth sciences, natural sciences or a related subject. Experience of sedimentary isotope geochemistry is essential.

Experience of data compilation/database management and experience of geochemical/Earth system modelling is desirable.
