Duties and Responsibilities

The Institute of Ophthalmology is committed to a multi-disciplinary research portfolio that furthers an understanding of the eye and visual system linked with clinical investigations targeted to specific problems in the prevention and treatment of eye disease. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary research team studying neural circuit function and development. Key duties will include culturing hESC derived retinal organoids, immunohistochemical analysis and microscopy of retinal tissue, with a opportunity to work with animal models of retinal disease.

This appointment is until 31 March 2023 in the first instance with the possibility of extension subject to grant funding.

Key Requirements

Applicants should have a BSc or equivalent in a relevant subject and have experience with cell culture and immunohistochemistry techniques. Experience using confocal microscopy is also desirable.
