Duties and Responsibilities
The Cataloguing and Metadata Team creates, edits, and enhances metadata for a wide range of resources across the library, primarily using recognized cataloguing standards on the librarys library management system, Alma.
The role is primarily based on site. Limited remote working may be possible, dependent on staffing needs on site and the work available.
The postholder will primarily catalogue current acquisitions using RDA, MARC21, LCSH, and LC Names, as well as classifying material according to local and international standard schemes. They will also undertake related work, such as retrospective cataloguing and data enhancement.
The job is a open ended full-time post, working 1 FTE, 36.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The candidate should be a qualified information professional with knowledge and experience of working with recognized cataloguing standards and library management software, able to deal to with material in a variety of languages. They should have strong IT skills and be capable of working with others.
