Duties and Responsibilities

The mission of LHA is to identify biological and social factors that affect lifelong health, ageing and the development of chronic disease, and to use findings to design and test interventions that enhance healthy ageing.

The main purpose of this job will be to lead on the analysis of quantitative data from a range of data sources and disciplines. The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical and non-clinical epidemiologists, social scientists and data scientists. The successful appointee will conduct original research leading to publication. More generally, the appointee will be expected to develop an independent research career, and will be supported in doing so.

This post is funded to 29 February 2024 in the first instance.

Key Requirements

This post will suit someone with a background in health informatics, data science, epidemiology or biostatistics.

The appointee will have a PhD or equivalent experience. We are looking for evidence of research experience and conducting quantitative analysis, and the appointee will already have experience of analysing electronic healthcare datasets.

You will be a post-doc who thrives on an inter-disciplinary research environment, and you will be jointly supervised by Dr Juan Pablo Kaski (Centre for Paediatric Inherited and Rare Cardiovascular Disease, UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science), Professor Paul Taylor (UCL Institute of Health Informatics) in the Institute of Health Informatics and Professor Kevin Mills (UCL, Institute of Child Health). The wider research team includes Clinical Research Fellows, Research Nurses and Research Assistants.
