Duties and Responsibilities
The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London. The CTC is responsible for the development and conduct of clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to the treatment of cancer and is a National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) accredited cancer trials centre. The CTC undertakes phase I, II & III trials, some with biological endpoints. CTC staff collaborate with clinicians and research staff in the UK and abroad. We have a number of areas of specialisation; Lung, Haematology, Gynaecology, Gastrointestinal (GI) tract, Bone metastases, Head & neck, Sarcoma and Brain cancers.
The post holder will be part of a team working on phase I, II and III trials. He/she will have general data and administrative duties across all groups.
The main purpose of the post is to support the trial team in all administrative tasks and be a key point of contact for hospitals participating in our trials. The post holder will also assist in developing standard practices within the CTC and in problem-solving.
Duration of this post is funded for one year in the first instance.
The postholder will have experience of clerical/administrative work in a hospital/ medical/ academic environment, as well as data entry and/or using databases.
Knowledge of oncology, including cancer biology and cancer treatments, and medical terminology would be desirable.
