We now have an opportunity within the Helpdesk Hub team for the position of Accounts Assistant – Helpdesk, fixed term for 18 months.
The post holder will work within the Helpdesk team on a day-to-day basis. The Helpdesk provides specialist support for Cambridge University Financial System Administration, Accounts Payable, Receivable, iProcurement and Concur Expenses as well as advising departments on best practice and ensuring that calls and enquiries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
In addition, the post holder also provides support to the Accounts Receivable, Payable and Cash Management team in various areas such as eInvoicing, reconciliation of the Supplier’s accounts, liaising with departments regarding allocation of payments to the University; preparation and reconciliation of International Payments and any other administrative assistance required in those areas.
Candidates should possess the ability to deal with staff and the public; be able to work on their own and in a team and possess excellent interpersonal skills / telephone manner and PC skills. In addition they should be numerate and be able to deal with complex reconciliations; have good prioritisation and time management skills along with a strong attention to detail.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance.
Candidates should be educated to A-level standard / GCSE standard including, Mathematics and English and in addition possess the Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent) qualification or currently studying towards this.
