We are recruiting a Data Team Manager to lead a team of data managers, engineers and scientists working with them to unleash the power of data to tell a story, communicate a message and unlock the benefits of our data to the global health research community.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for someone with an in-depth knowledge of data projects and experience of running a successful data team to join this well-respected research organisation, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

NIHR BioResource is a member of the Health Data Research UK Alliance, a partner in one of the HDR UK Digital Innovation Hubs, and has strong collaborations with Genomics England and Our Future Health.

As Data Team Manager you will oversee our rich and varied health-related data on 200,000 people. You will lead the team to provide useful data products, project consultancy and robust insights which support the organisation, the NHS and external stakeholders in their health research. You will also be encouraged to play an active role in networks of senior data managers in the health research field to discuss and influence best practice across the UK.

If you are currently an accomplished Data Manager with substantial line management experience and a keen interest to progress, then this role would be perfect for you.

You will love enabling people to do their best work and creating the environment for effective data analysis and re-use.

Ideally, you will have experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis and enjoy working with a wide variety of data sources and collection methods, including NHS data.

Though this is envisioned as a full-time role, 37 hours per week, we are open to discussion about arrangements such as part-time work down to 0.8 full-time equivalent. Our team members are currently working from home; this will be reviewed in spring 2022 with a likelihood of hybrid working continuing after that.

NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) as part of a 5-year funding cycle. The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2024 in the first instance. It is likely that the NIHR BioResource will continue to be funded by NIHR beyond this date, with an extension grant providing funding until 30 November 2024, with a further extension of 5 years dependent on available funding.
