The Jeffrey Cheah Building a £94M new state of the art research building on the Biomedical Campus (financed by the School of Clinical Medicine and School of Biological Sciences) it opened in August 2019. The building will hold up to 650 staff and will house three different Departments/Institutes.

The role holder shall be part of a team which provides a Glasswash and Media service for the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centres research activities. You will be responsible for:

  • Collecting and washing laboratory glass and plastic-ware
  • Operating autoclaves and disposing of laboratory waste
  • Ensuring the correct procedures are in place and adhered to for the disposal of waste.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.

This role may be eligible to receive the Cambridge Living Wage (CLW) supplement in order to ensure the base salary is equivalent to at least £10 per hour. Further information on this can be seen on the Living Wage webpage (https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/pay-benefits/pay/living-wage).
