The HR Division sits within the Unified Administrative Services and provides services to some 150 academic and non-academic departments and institutions.
The HR Adviser works with managers in Departments throughout the University to develop and deliver innovative, best practice HR solutions to meet the institution’s objectives. The post holders will work as part of the HR Advisory team.
As part of the HR Advisory team you will provide advice and support to line managers on HR matters including individual cases, staffing aspects of relevant projects and initiatives and relevant aspects of employment law. You will assist in the provision of a responsive and high quality advisory service to staff within the University concerning University and School-based HR policies and procedures, e.g. appointment, probation, appraisal, promotion, grading, remuneration, absence management and performance management. In liaison with the School HR Business Manager, you will manage an HR caseload and advise on HR-related procedures.
You should be CIPD qualified or be able to demonstrate significant HR experience and have a good knowledge of employment law and good employment practice, with a commitment to continuous professional development. The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, along with well-developed communication skills is essential.
