An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time clinic nurse to join our small but busy team working three days a week. The Occupational Health Service is part of the University Occupational Health and Safety Service and is responsible for the development of occupational health support, compliance and support services for staff and studentships throughout the University and Departments.
The role includes the screening of professionally regulated students i.e., Medical, Veterinary & PGCE (teacher) students, and staff undertaking research in the NHS, routine health surveillance, work and travel related immunisation and health promotion. Reporting to the Deputy Occupational Health Nurse Manager you will carry out immunisation, phlebotomy, health screening and assist with the provision of travel health advice to staff and some student groups. You will be expected to manage your own clinics, have excellent organisational skills and the self-confidence to work independently, with access to clinical advice as needed. Effective communication and team working skills together with confident use of standard IT systems including ‘Microsoft Office’ are essential. Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) within the adult branch.
This role operates on a part-time basis, 21.75 over 3 days a week.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires NMC Registration.
