We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the ADVANTAGE research consortium. ADVANTAGE is part of the UK Advanced Pain Discovery Platform. The Cambridge consortium is focused on painful or (unexpectedly) painless visceral disease and disorders, and with expertise in genetics, cellular, systems and behavioural methods, are linked to industry, including Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca.
The post is based at the Department of Medicine, which is located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The successful candidate will interact closely with the Bioengineering group at West Cambridge site.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant field and demonstrate competencies in surface biopotential analysis, e.g. ECG, EMG, ECG, GSR, or other time-series acquired in the laboratory or in free-living conditions (wearable sensor). You will be expected to set up and manage specialised tools (software and hardware) required for quantitative sensory (small-fibre) and autonomic testing in healthy and patient volunteers. You will be working alongside a project coordinator and research nurse.
The position is particularly suited to those interested in sensory or autonomic neurosciences. Candidates who can demonstrate ability to communicate and engage with research and patient communities are particularly welcomed.
