We are seeking to appoint a Research Laboratory Co-ordinator to enable the successful and effective operation of research projects for Professor Giles Oldroyd, firstly at the Sainsbury Laboratory and then at the Crop Science Centre (CSC).

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the research programme and will have experience of lab management in a research environment. They will supervise lab technicians and new lab members. They will co-ordinate induction and exit procedures for PhD students and staff, procurement and maintenance of consumables and equipment, and maintenance of specific lab areas.

The post-holder will contribute to ensuring a safe working environment by preparing standard operating procedures, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local health and safety rules. They will have knowledge of relevant regulations, practical experience of laboratory technician/biological scientific research work, experience in staff management and training provision. They will also possess good IT, organisational and communication skills.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
